So you’re thinking about moving to Oakton Virginia? It’s an area just 16 miles from DC and it’s in the hub of Northern Virginia. We’re going to go ahead and explore all the area has to offer, looking at some of the local amenities and restaurants and towns as well as the price points of what you can get.
Surrounded by major Northern Virginia hubs such as Tysons, Vienna, Merrifield and Reston, Oakton is more of a residential area in Fairfax but it is just a few miles from major attractions and amenities like Wolf Trap, Tyson’s Corner, Mosaic District, and the W&OD Trail and a slew of other parks.
The average home in Oakton in 2023 sold for just over a $1 million and on average is a four bedroom, 3.5 bath with over 2,500 sq.ft., sitting on almost an acre. But Oaken isn’t all detached homes. The dividing line in Oakton is actually Chain Bridge Road. Northwest of Chain Bridge Road is a more rural area with detached homes that are sitting on larger lots. Southeast of Chain Bridge Road is where you’re going to find more density, consisting mainly of townhomes and condos, though there are still detached homes.
The majority of the detached homes sit on that Northwestern side above Chain Bridge Road and for hold anywhere from 4 bedrooms up to 7+ bedrooms. They are going to be ranging from $800,000 to over $15 million.
Both the townhomes and condos sit on that more dense side of Chain Bridge Road and are close to the Orange Line/Vienna Metro. Townhomes in this area range anywhere from $375,000 up to $895,000 for a townhome. Condos are coming in a little bit less sitting at that range of $280,000 up to $425,000.
As you can see Oakton has a lot to offer no matter what level of home you’re going into—whether it’s a starter home, a move up home, or your dream home. If you have any questions about Oakton Virginia don’t hesitate to reach out.
