Holiday Lights and Festivals

There are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the 2020 Holiday Season while socially distancing. In order to get into the holiday spirit, consider adding these holiday light tours and festivals to your calendar. Below are two FREE options and three paid options.

Fairfax City’s Festival of Lights and Carols
Mark your calendar! December 5, 2020 from 12 PM – 6 PM enjoy live holiday music and enjoy s’mores and hot cider in Old Town Square (10415 North Street). Sponsored by Fair City Mall, this community event is free to the public.

Bull Run Festival of Lights
Located at the Bull Run Regional Park (7700 Bull Run Dr. Centreville, VA 20121, this festival recurs weekly on each evening from 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM. The driving tour costs between $20-$30 per vehicle. You can buy tickets in advance on their website.

Meadowlark’s Winter Walk of Lights
Located at 9750 Meadowlark Gardens Ct. Vienna, VA 22182, this winter wonderland recurs daily from 5:30 PM – 10:30 PM through January 3, 2021. Tickets must be purchased in advance as no onsite tickets will be sold. Per the NOVA Parks website, “the Winter Walk is more than a half-mile long, one-way route providing an enchanting and safe evening activity.”

George Washington Mount Vernon’s Winter Glow
Enjoy the Mount Vernon estate “illuminated with soft lights and holiday patterns as you listen to Christmas carolers and visit an 18th-century encampment.” This experience runs from December 11-13 & December 26-28 from 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM. Costs range from $25-$30 for youth and $40-$45 for adults.

Holly’s Tacky Christmas Lights in Fairfax, VA
