1.Fall Fredericksurg Brewfest 2020
Enjoy an afternoon of CRAFT BEER, live music, food and fun. Craft brewers from all over the region will be sampling some of their award winning beers. There will also be a select number of Virginia Wineries and Distilleries sampling beverages as well. Live Music acts will take the stage throughout the day. 2. Fall Wine Festival & Sunset Tour
Enjoy an evening of wine tasting on the grounds of Mount Vernon. Taste unlimited samples from Virginia wineries after hours at George Washington’s estate. Bring a blanket and relax on the east lawn overlooking the Potomac River. Advance tickets required,

3. Warrenton Oktoberfest
Enjoy an afternoon of German beer and fundraising. The Warrenton Oktoberfest is a fundraising activity of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The celebration includes a variety of German delicacies, beer, games and a live Oompah band. Each ticket comes with a $10 coupon to use at the food pavilion or bakery.

4. Go Apple Picking
Who is ready for apple cobbler? Nothings says the arrival of Fall more than apple picking season and it is in full swing. Two area orchards offer pick your own apples or if you are pressed for time buy a bag of already picked apples. Check website for updates on hours

6. Catch a Comedy Show

7. Reston Farm Fall Fest
Pack the kids and head to the Reston Farm Fall Fest. Kids can enjoy the pumpkin moon bounce, bouncy slides, inflatable corn maze, train rides and farm animals. An online ticket purchase for specific entry time is required to enter the Fall Fest.

8. Take a Drive and See the Fall Foliage
There is no better way to enjoy Fall foliage than taking a scenic drive. Fairfax County has curated five scenic drives to take with the best views of the Fall foliage. Pack a picnic and take a drive this month or check out some of the restaurants and wineries included on the scenic drive list.
9. Nightmare Alley
The Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton transforms its usual haunted trail attraction into Northern Virginia’s first-ever Haunted Drive-Thru. Zombies, swamp creatures, creepy clowns and scary dolls are among 13 different scary scenes taking up residence at the Workhouse campus during the month of October.

10. Death Comes to Carlyle House
Halloween at Carlyle House. The historic home, where John Carlyle passed away in 1780, is offering special tours on select evenings in October. Get a peek into Alexandria founder and wealthy merchant Carlyle’s mansion, and learn what death and mourning was like in the 18th century. Reservations are required as space is limited. All COVID-procedures will be in place during this tour.
