Spring is in the air and there are lots of things to do to celebrate.  We are starting to see more in person events this month whether you want to hear some live music, experience interactive digital art, tour a museum exhibit, or enjoy some beer and oysters.  Check out our list of curated events for March.

Norman Rockwell Exhibit
Step back into life in the 20th century with Norman Rockwell’s America. Spanning six decades, this exhibit shows a variety of Rockwell’s folksy, humorous and topical paintings of some of the most powerful events in the nation’s history, including the Four Freedoms series.

Feisty, Friendly, and Fearless: Women of the Lodge
Celebrate Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day with this historic in person tour at Rippon Lodge. The tour focuses on the women of Rippon Lodge and their lives, accomplishments and the women they raised.

Beers and Oysters at the Nomini Bay Oyster Festival
It doesn’t get better than beer and oysters!  All weekend Dirt Farm Brewing will be serving raw, grilled and specialty oysters that are perfectly paired with one of their beers.

Alexandria Drive-In Movies Are Back
Steep in the nostalgia of a drive-in movie while also helping a charity. Movies for March have just been announced and tickets are on sale now.  Don’t wait – these all sold out last Fall. The Alexandria Drive-In Theater is a fundraiser event benefitting ATHENA Rapid Response Innovation Lab, an Alexandria-based non-profit organization. All proceeds directly benefit this and other local charities.

Van Gogh – The Immersive Experience
Discover a new way to enjoy the works of Vincent van Gogh and immerse yourself in the artist’s masterpieces at this 360-degree, digital show.  Location of event is kept secret until ticket sales. Tickets will be released on Friday, March 5th at 12 noon.

ARCTECHOUSE  – RENEWAL 2121
Inspired by the annual cherry blossom season and utilizing the power of creative technology, Renewal 2121 seeks to inspire hope amid a global pandemic and concerns of climate change. Visitors are invited to experience the interactive, futuristic world of Japan and the Cherry Blossoms. Opens March 15th.  1238 Maryland Ave., SW, Washington, DC 20024

Crowded Streets
is a local cover band that performs songs of well known local favorite Dave Matthews Band.  The individuals who form this outstanding tribute band are each dedicated to the task of reproducing the unique sonic experience of a live Dave Matthews Band performance. Damien Escobar
Emmy Award-winning violinist Damien Escobar will be performing at The Birchmere this month. The native New Yorker gained recognition across the globe after his performance with his brother on America’s Got Talent. Since then, the musician has broken out into his solo career and has released four albums.

The Free Flowing Musical Experience at the State Theater – Free Outdoor Concert
Enjoy some beautiful acoustic sounds from The Free Flowing Musical Experience at The State Theatre’s outdoor stage. The band combines rock, jazz, blues and more to create their own unique sound. Capital Art and Craft Festival
The Capital Art and Craft Festival is back.  The festival will feature works of art and fine crafts presented by more than 100 juried artists. Artists will offer a wide variety of handmade art in several mediums including clothing/textiles/fiber, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media, painting and prints, photography, pottery/clay, printmaking and wood.

National Cherry Blossom Festival Pink Tie Party
