As we enter the last full month of summer there has been a huge resurgence of events and activities – especially on the live music scene. So if you are yearning for a live concert, a county fair or want to spend the day with reptiles check out our list of Things To Do In August.

National Park Free Entrance Day
Take advantage of the two National Park free-entrance days on August 4th and August 25th. Both days feature free entrance to all National Park properties across the country. It’s a perfect time to visit our local national parks – Great Falls Park, Prince William Forest, and Shenandoah National Park.
Air Supply
If you grew up in the 80s you probably know every song that Air Supply sang. The Australian duo, together for over 40 years, bring their Lost in Love Experience to The Birchmere this month. Fans can expect hear their classic hits.

Prince William County Fair
Get ready for a week long itinerary of entertainment at the Prince William County Fair. There will be midway rides, games, live music, a demolition derby, a mechanical bull ride, pony and camel rides and a large variety of kiddie rides. Pack the family and enjoy the fun.

Arlington County Fair
The annual Arlington County Fair is back in 2021! One of the largest free events in the east, the festival features live entertainment, rides and games, kid’s activities, and of course traditional fair fare including funnel cakes, cotton candy and many other food options. There will also be a beer garden.

Bluegrass Music Braddock Nights
Pack a picnic, grab a chair and head over to Royal Lake Park as the Hillbilly Gypsies come to Northern Virginia. With their unique Bluegrass sound the band, which hails from West Virginia, is best known for their high-energy live performances and have become a crowd favorite.

Chillin on Church
Vienna is hosting its Chillin’ on Church block party. Located on historic Church Street, the event includes food, local beer and wine, music, and family-friendly activities. Live music by Ocho de Bastos: A Latin Pop Rock Band. Admission is free.

27th Annual Tinner Hill Music Festival
The Tinner Hill Music Festival brings culturally rich live music and arts to the City of Falls Church to create a sensational festival experience. Held at Cherry Hill Park, the festival includes a full line-up of live performances, a food village where you can taste delicious food by local restaurants and a kid’s village complete with a puppy petting zoo and face painting.

Northern Virginia Reptile Expo
