It’s that time of year when planning for the Thanksgiving holiday begins. Whether you are planning dinner for a large group, a quiet Thanksgiving for 2, or traveling to visit friends and family, the most important part of the planning process is the menu.
Hosting a Thanksgiving dinner can be overwhelming. With folks now commuting back into the office and the hectic nature of Fall family schedules, planning your Thanksgiving feast can seem insurmountable. But fear not, there are a lot of options in Northern Virginia to take meal prep off your to-do list.
We have curated a list of local businesses that will do all the prep work for you which turns your list into three simple steps: pick it up, reheat and serve. And in some cases pickup and serve.
Whole Foods
Whole Foods provides several options to have a delicious Thanksgiving Dinner all ready for you to heat up at home. You can order the meal from their catering menu based on the number of guests you are hosting. Whole Foods provides only “no-antibiotics-ever turkeys.” The meals come with traditional sides including green beans, mashed potatoes, herb stuffing and cranberry orange sauce. Hosting a large group? You can order a meal that includes a second entree of Maple Bourbon Ham with Brown Sugar Citrus Glaze and additional sides. Either way, Whole Foods has you covered.
Meals can be picked up any time between November 17th and 23rd and orders must be placed 48 hours ahead of your desired pickup day. More information can be found at Whole Foods Thanskgiving Dinners.
Wegmans
Wegmans also offers a few options for their Thanksgiving take out meals. You can order the Classic Turkey Dinner – which provides a 12-14 lb turkey, herb stuffing mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, mashed sweet potatoes and cranberry orange relish. This meal is ready to heat and serve at home in about 2 hours.
Not a fan of turkey? Wegmans offers a Signature Ham dinner which comes with a 7-8 pound spiral ham and a variety of side dishes.
Dining alone but don’t want to cook a whole meal? Wegmans also offers an individual Thanksgiving meal that you can take home and heat at your convenience.
Meals are available for pick up from November 18th to 23rd. Orders must be placed at least 24 hours in advance. Look for more information at Wegmans Thanksgiving Dinners.
Cracker Barrel
Cracker Barrel offers a couple of options for takeout Thanksgiving Dinners. You can order a Heat n’ Serve Family Meal that you can take home and heat in 2 hours. Just pick the items you would like to include in your meal, select a date for pick up and you are in business. You can also order a Hot and Ready Family Dinner that comes hot and ready to serve.
Can’t make it to see your family for Thanksgiving? Cracker Barrell will deliver a Thanksgiving Dinner to a friend or family’s door. What a great way to let them know you are thinking of them!
