While COVID-19 restrictions are still in place in Virginia, many local area breweries are selling beer and offering curbside pickup or delivery. Some are even finding ways to make a difference and give back to the community at the same time.
Try a new beer while helping the frontline workers – Beltway Brewing Company and Waters End Brewery have collaborated to create a West Coast IPA called PPE (People Performing under Extreme conditions). For every six pack sold, $6 is donated to the Inova COVID-19 Emergency Preparedness Fund. The fund helps purchase PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for our healthcare heroes. To date, the collaboration has driven a total of $9,000 in Inova donations.
Caboose Brewery has become a one-stop-shop for not only beer but also grocery essentials. You can order produce, a variety of meats, eggs, milk, cheese and even toilet paper. You can also donate a meal to Inova staff or send a meal delivery to a local struggling family that have lost their jobs, recently had a baby, or have children with special needs.
The Highside Taproom in Fairfax City is leveraging the power of technology to deliver food and beer to their customers. Now, you can have your order delivered by a speedy robot if you are local to Fairfax City. You can also donate a meal to the healthcare workers and crisis response team at Inova Fairfax Hospital.
