These terms cover the use of focusonnova.com and the text-messaging program of FOCUS on NoVA (Barrett and Associates, LLC DBA FOCUS on NoVA; Focus on NoVA Real Estate, the team of Tracey Barrett, Associate Broker, CENTURY 21 Redwood Realty, 10300 Eaton Place, Suite 150, Fairfax, VA 22030). SMS Terms

FOCUS on NoVA (Barrett and Associates, LLC DBA FOCUS on NoVA; Tracey Barrett, Associate Broker, CENTURY 21 Redwood Realty) sends text messages to its own real estate clients. These terms cover that program.

What we text about. One-to-one messages about your purchase, sale or inquiry: reminders about dates and deadlines in your transaction, coordination of showings and appointments, replies to questions you text us, and occasional personal check-ins after closing (for example a home anniversary). We do not send marketing or promotional text messages under this program.

How you opt in. We collect your consent to text in one of three ways, and we never text you without it.

(1) Our website. On the contact form at focusonnova.com/contact you may tick the optional Text messages box, which is unchecked until you tick it and is not required to send the form. The wording under the box states the message types, that message frequency varies, that message and data rates may apply, that you can reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help, that consent is not a condition of working with us, and links these Terms and our Privacy Policy. We keep the consent wording and the date with your submission. The first text you then receive from us is the enrollment confirmation below.

(2) In person or by phone, when you engage us. Your agent reads you this script, word for word, and records your answer, your mobile number and the date on your file: “As your agent I’ll text you about your transaction: deadline reminders, showing and appointment coordination, replies to your questions, and I may check in now and then after closing. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP at any time to stop. Our Terms & Conditions are at focusonnova.com/sms-terms and our Privacy Policy at focusonnova.com/privacy-policy. Is it OK to text you at this number?” If you say yes, the first text you receive from us is the enrollment confirmation below.

(3) You text us first. You receive a one-to-one reply to your question only.

Enrollment confirmation. Whichever way you opt in, the first text a new number receives from us, before anything else, is: “FOCUS on NoVA: You’re opted in to texts about your real estate inquiry or transaction. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.” Screenshots of the website form and the full scripts are on our How you opt in to texts page.

Message and data rates may apply. Your carrier’s standard messaging and data charges apply to messages you send and receive.

Opt out. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts from us. You will receive one final message confirming you have been unsubscribed. We will not text you again unless you opt back in.

Your mobile information is never shared with third parties for marketing. We share mobile numbers and text-messaging opt-in information only with the messaging provider that delivers the messages you requested, and only for that purpose. See our Privacy Policy.

Carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Changes. We may update these terms; the current version is always at focusonnova.com/sms-terms.
