Nearly a decade ago, Johanna Braden opened Two the Moon — a charming homewares and gift shop located in the Williamsburg Shopping Center in Arlington. After traveling around the world with her marine husband, she ended up in Arlington and despite her strong Boston roots, grew to love the Northern Virginia community so much she and her husband decided to make Arlington her home.

A walk through the shop shows a unique and wide array of gift items. From housewares, high-end jewelry, candles, decorative soaps, Scout bags, baby gifts, to stuffed animals, Johanna tries to curate from local artisans as much as possible. If you are hosting a holiday meal, she will help you set up your holiday table. If you are a guest, consider bringing an exceptional hostess gift such as a cheese board, a fine oil and vinegar set, jams, jellies, or a Bloody Mary kit.

Aside from homewares and gifts, Two the Moon also features a very active embroidery business and vinyl monogramming. Customers can bring items to the store to have them personalized.  

When you shop at Two the Moon you are also helping the community.  Two the Moon regularly supports The Arlington Free Clinic, Arlington Food Assistance Center and all the local schools. In fact, Johanna takes great pride in having created a neighborhood gift shop. “People know each other here. I have seen children grow up and have seen their babies born. We have had a neighborhood kid come in with $10 and ask what he can get for his mother?  We reduced the price and gift-wrapped something for him to give to his Mom.” This sense of community is what she dreamed of when establishing this gift shoppe.
